As faculty for Business Analytics Fundamentals for Black Belts, Ed Miles brings his extensive experience working with senior executives in manufacturing and service organizations to improve organizational effectiveness and performance.
Miles has over twenty years of experience helping leaders design and implement performance improvement initiatives including strategic alignment, productivity improvement, cost reduction and customer service improvement. He has led performance improvement projects with service and manufacturing organizations, such as Baxter Healthcare Corporation, Bostik, Inc., Miles Kimball Company, Experimental Aircraft Association, Amtrak, Sears, Owens-Corning, MCI, Jefferson-Smurfit, Dow Chemical, Reynolds Aluminum, Pepsi, and Cargill. Miles also has experience working with multi-national clients in Thailand, China, Argentina, Mexico, Canada, and several European countries. Miles brings both presenting and teaching experience via briefings and workshops, leading lectures on topics such as strategic management, process redesign and innovation, fundamental team concepts, change management, leadership, statistical data analysis, and process management. In addition to his faculty responsibilities, Miles serves as the president of Miles & Associates, a management consulting firm focused on improving business performance.
Miles holds a BS degree in statistics from the University of South Carolina and is a graduate of the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School Executive Development Institute. He is a certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt, program leader for Critical Thinking Skills, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and Kepner-Tregoe’s Analytical Troubleshooting.
