Edward Tay

Currently an Associate Professor (Practice) in UN Sustainable Development Goals Research Lab, United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and lecturer in Master of Science in Venture Creation, School of Continuing and Lifelong Education, National University of Singapore (NUS), Green Finance and Impact Assessment, Career Competence Class, Nanyang Business School, Nanyang Technology University (NTU) and Advanced Certificate in Venture Capital, Singapore Management University Academy, Singapore Management University (SMU).

Founder of Green Tree Initiative, a community project supported by Enterprise Singapore, promoting sustainability knowledge through industry partnership with trade associations and academia and to build an ecosystem that incubates and pollinates ideas that taps on innovation and technology to solve climate challenges. He sits in a national steering committee funded by the National Research Foundation, Sustainable Tropical Data Centre Testbed, driving for innovation and energy efficiency in data centres.

Co-founder of Asia Sustainability Forum, a regional platform for stakeholders to build connections, share thought leadership on sustainability efforts, and organized community events with corporate partners such as Enterprise Singapore, National Library Board, National University of Singapore, Singapore Management University & Singapore Deep Technology Alliance.

He currently is serving as Sustainability Ambassador for Tech4City, ImpactPlus and SkillsFuture Career Transition Programme (Driving Sustainability in the Future), Chairperson of Scrutinising Committee in Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Honorary Treasurer in SG Tech Singapore Enterprise Chapter 2021/23, Co-Chairman for Huawei Sparks Advisory Council Asia Pacific 2021/23, Advisor for Singapore Deep Tech Alliance 2021/23, Patron for SMU MBA Consulting Club and Fellow for Singapore Centre for Social Enterprises 2021/2024.
