Biography
London Business School
Dr Sherman's research focuses on inequality in the workplace, primarily with respect to gender. His work looking at whether female managers influence the wage gap between their male and female subordinates was published in the American Journal of Sociology. Another project investigates whether women's careers improve when their husbands perform an increased share of household labour and childcare. Dr Sherman also studies workplace social networks, specifically the manner in which network structure influences the initial disclosure and second-hand diffusion of stigmatising information.
After receiving his bachelor's degree, Dr Sherman worked as a research assistant at Harvard Business School and as an investigative analyst at the AON Corporation. He completed his doctoral studies in Business Administration, with a concentration in the management of organisations, at the Haas School of Business.
