Biography
The London School of Economics and Political Science
Előd Takáts is a Visiting Professor in Practice at the LSE School of Public Policy. He is Professor of Finance and serves as the Rector of Corvinus University of Budapest. In his current position, he works to foster international academic cooperation, exchange ideas and provide central and Eastern European perspective on global issues. His research focuses on various economic questions related to monetary policy, including the workings of the international bank lending channel, the impact of ageing or climate change.
Előd Takáts earned his PhD in Financial Economics at Princeton University. He holds an MA in Economics from the Central European University and an MSc in Finance from Corvinus University of Budapest. He worked internationally for twenty years at the International Monetary Fund, the Bank for International Settlements and the London School of Economics, with shorter stays at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and the European Central Bank.
