Emily Fox-Kales

Dr. Emily Fox-Kales is a clinical psychologist, eating disorder specialist, and founder and director of Feeding Ourselves in Arlington, MA. She sees patients struggling with their body image and relationship to food, whether that manifests clinically or sub-clinically. She also provides support to individuals with anxiety, depression, and/or a history of trauma and is active in sexual assault intervention programs.

Dr. Fox-Kales’ treatment approach draws from a number of modalities, including Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness practices. Her work is informed by both what she teaches at several Boston area hospitals and universities as well as her experience working in inpatient settings in psychiatric hospitals. Dr. Fox-Kales helps clients redefine their troubled relationship with food and works with a multidisciplinary team that includes nutritionists, psychiatrists, and movement therapists.

Dr. Fox-Kales is passionate about the work she does, and she wants all her clients not only to develop a more rational relationship with food but also to become more empowered about their own size and shape. Dr. Fox-Kales received her PhD from Tufts University and her BA from Barnard College. She did her post-doctoral fellowship at McLean Hospital.
