I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at University of Chicago's Harris School of Public Policy. Before joining Harris, I was an Assistant Professor at Özyeğin University, İstanbul. I got my doctorate in Politics from the WILF Family Department of Politics at New York University in 2018.

My research interests are political economy of conflict and development, with a regional focus on Turkey. I explore the micro-level causes and consequences of insurgent conflict, especially in the areas of investment, education, and law.

I am a faculty fellow at the Association for Analytical Learning about Islam and Muslim Societies, and a research fellow at Global Relations Forum. I hold a B.S in Industrial Engineering and an M.A in Economics from Sabancı University. Before starting graduate school, I worked as a financial analyst at Industrial Development Bank of Turkey
