London Business School
Dr Emmanuel De George’s research concentrates on international accounting issues and the economic consequences of accounting harmonisation, with a particular focus on how accounting information impacts on the integration of capital markets. His other research interests include auditing pricing and issues relating to the competitiveness of the audit market. He joined London Business School in 2013 as an Assistant Professor of Accounting after receiving his PhD from the University of Michigan. Before pursuing an academic career, he was an auditor with KPMG (Australia), where he gained experience auditing both listed and private companies, and their transition to International Financial Reporting Standards. Dr De George’s work has been published in leading academic journals such as the Journal of Financial Economics and The Accounting Review, and currently teaches the Financial Accounting core in the Masters of Management programme.
University of Miami Business School
Professor De George joined the University of Miami in January 2019. He was previously a faculty member at the London Business School. His research interests include the economic consequences of corporate financial reporting regulation, bank supervision, and disclosure and regulation within the crypto-capital market. He teaches courses including Advanced Financial Analysis (ACC 672) and Intermediate Accounting (ACC 312). Dr. De George’s research has been published in leading academic journals including The Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting Research, Journal of Accounting and Economics and the Journal of Financial Economics. Prior to joining academia, he worked as an auditor in KPMG’s Middle Market Advisory Division in Melbourne, Australia before earning his PhD in Business (Accounting) at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business.
