Biography

Dr Khoo Eng Tat is an educator and principal investigator in virtual reality (VR), augmented and mixed reality (AR/MR), HCI and game design. He is currently a senior lecturer at NUS EDIC. He was previously an adjunct assistant professor with the same department, and associate faculty of Singapore University of Social Sciences. Eng Tat was a R&D director in a leading VR/AR company, where he led interdisciplinary teams and spearheaded new product development. He later co-founded a VR company and was an engineering & investment lead in a venture capital firm.
He is a board director of AsiaVR Association and a founding member of the Holomedicine Association. He is also a startup mentor at Pixel, Infocomm Media Development Authority and Startup SG Network, Enterprise Singapore. He served as an advisory board member of 2012 New Media Consortium that identified emerging technologies in Singapore education system. He was also the artistic advisor for the 6th Asia-Europe Art Camp, organized by Asia-Europe Foundation.
Eng Tat graduated with a PhD from NUS Mixed Reality Lab and Keio-NUS CUTE Center in 2011. His research contribution in serious games won the ACM SIGGRAPH Sandbox 2008 2nd Best Paper Award.
