Eric Friedman

Eric Friedman received his bachelor’s degree cum laude in physics from Princeton University in 1985. He went on to graduate school at UC Berkeley, receiving a master’s degree in physics and a doctorate in operations research. He spent a year as a visiting scholar at the University of California Energy Institute from July 1994 to June 1995. He then held faculty positions at Duke and Rutgers universities before accepting a position at Cornell as associate professor of operations research and information engineering in 2001.

Since 2010, he has been a visiting scholar in UC Berkeley’s Computer Science Department. In 2011, he joined ICSI, where he leads the Brain Network Image Analysis and Computation Research Group in collaboration with UC San Francisco faculty. His research interests include applications of game theory to cloud computing and applications of complex networks to the study of brain disorders.
