Villanova University

Evan M. Schares is currently Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor of Performance Studies in the Department of Communication at Villanova University. He holds a Ph.D. from Louisiana State University.

He teaches courses and conducts research in performance studies, queer and feminist stylistics, cultural studies, and critical theory. He has published in Text and Performance Quarterly, QED: A Journal in GLBTQ Worldmaking, and Journal of International and Intercultural Communication. His work investigates and is concerned with intimacy and belonging in queer and feminist archives. He studies the highly politicized nature of queer archival history. He is a first generation college student and committed to making the world a more just and compassionate place.
