SDA Bocconi School of Management

Fabrizio Montanari holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from Bocconi University. He is Associate Professor of Organization Studies at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, where he is Scientific Coordinator of OPERA, a Research Unit at GIUnO Research Center, specialized in the study of creativity and innovation. He is also Adjunct Professor at Bologna Business Schoola and Bocconi University. He has been Visiting Professor at Copenhagen Business School, Johannes Kepler University of Linz, University of Leicester, and WU Vienna. He is reviewer for several international scientific journals. He was Chairman of Fondazione Nazionale della Danza Aterballetto (www.aterballetto.it) and Thematic Expert (URBACT Programme) for the themes “Promoting Entrepreneurship” and “Improving Innovation and Knowledge Economy”. He is currently conducting research on the effects of different networks’ characteristics on creativity focusing on how the characteristics of the contextual fabric (organizational, urban, etc.) could create breeding ground for creative and innovative ecosystems. His work has appeared in such journals as Journal of Economic Geography, Journal of Management Studies, Organization Studies, and Urban Studies.
