Ferdie Lochner

Aside from accreditation as mediator, Ferdie Lochner serves as director, independent trustee and board member. Through his role as Director: Regulatory Compliance at Indevaldi, Ferdie offers to businesses and their boards a spectrum of regulatory compliance services, while he also focuses on technological innovations and legal aspects of technology, involving legal composition and analysis, contract drafting, Service Level Agreements, and dispute resolution, the latter combined with his roles of serving as mediator and as independent chair for disciplinary hearings. With a foundational background in political geography, and having served for 25 years in municipal governance, Ferdie is also well acquainted with the public sector and its statutory environment and he has therefore also a strong interest in helping to solve disputes at this level. Among several degrees awarded to Ferdie is a PhD in Business Management and Administration (Technology Management) from the University of Stellenbosch Business School, while he is far advanced with a Bachelor in Laws degree through the University of South Africa. He remains active in the academic sphere, among others as contributor, PhD supervisor, public speaker, designated guest lecturer in technology ventures at the Namibian University of Science & Technology and associate at the Institute for Futures Research at his alma mater. Among Ferdie's many interests are the art of lifelong learning, the law, sustainability, urban and political geography, the Namibian arids, the history of the Civil Rights movement, modern military history, San rock art, sociology, the philosophy of technology, birding, bird and landscape photography, mountain biking, obstacle racing, camping, and cooking.
