Background

Dr Amaral Féris has a PhD in Project Management (Australian National University - ANU), Master and Bachelor Degree’s in Computer Science, Lato Sensu Graduate Course in Business Management and Six Sigma Black Belt and Green Belt certifications. In addition, he is Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in the UK (AFHEA).

During 28 years in the industry, Dr Amaral Féris was a Program Manager at AEL/Elbit Systems, Project Management Specialist at ANU, R&D Project Manager at Hewlett-Packard (HP), IT Project Manager and New Product Introduction Engineer at Dell Computers, Project Manager at Altus (industrial automation), and assembler, C and C++ developer at Altus and Chronos (commercial automation).

Current activities

Since November 2016, Dr Amaral Féris is teaching operations, programme and project management at Cranfield University and in the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom in Shrivenham, supervising three graduate and collecting software development project data. His research interests are focused on planning quality, performance improvement, software and hardware development projects and decision support tools.
