IESE Business School
Fernando Serra is associate professor in the Department of Production, Technology and Operations Management. He has held several positions at IESE, including as head of the Production Department. He was the founder and co-chairman of IESE''s International Center of Logistics Research (CIIL). He also initiated and managed the Industrial Marketing diploma of the Chemical Institute of Sarriá.
Prof. Serra earned his Ph.D. in economics and management as well as his MBA from IESE Business School. He also holds a degree in industrial engineering from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya.
In addition to his activities at IESE, Prof. Serra advises various companies in the areas of operations, production, industrial marketing, the induction of new technologies and logistics and serves on the boards of a large group of businesses. He boasts over 25 years'' experience of consulting for clients in sectors as diverse as the agro-nutritional industry, chemical, transport and electro-mechanics. During this time he was occasionally called upon to rescue companies in serious financial straits.
Prof. Serra has published numerous articles in specialized press. He is also member of the European Operations Management Association (EUROMA), the American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) and the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI).
