Biography
INSEAD Business School
Filip is a Negotiator, Author and Adjunct Professor. He has advised organisations on billion dollar negotiations and coached hundreds of executives across 43 countries. He has worked with a large number of experts in international, commercial and crisis negotiation, and has ontracted his services to a dozen negotiation service providers. He has taught 350 in-person negotiation programs for 11,000 participants, including senior executive leadership across business, NGOs, academia, government, judiciary, military and law-enforcement. His negotiation programs have been selected by top academic institutions and military academies in 14 countries across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Oceania. Filip also maintains current accreditations in hostage negotiation, mental health first aid, and he has volunteered as a suicide hotline crisis supporter.
Additionally, Filip has himself attended 80+ negotiation programmes taught by government, law enforcement, academic, and private sector negotiation providers. All this combined puts Filip in a unique position to evaluate the available approaches to negotiation, and to provide an informed perspective on what works and what doesn't.
Filip holds concurrent teaching positions at top tier institutions in multiple countries. He is Adjunct Professor in the faculty of Decision Sciences at INSEAD, where he has taught a wide range of executive programs on Negotiation Dynamics. Filip is also Program Director at the Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM) where he teaches the executive programs Advanced Negotiation and Influence (ANI) and Developing Effective Negotiation and Influencing Skills (DENS). Filip is Visiting Faculty at the Indian School of Business (ISB), where he teaches the executive programs Mastering the Art of Negotiation and Influence (MANI) and Strategies for Effective Negotiation (SEN), and at the Royal Institute for Governance and Strategic Studies (RIGSS) in Bhutan, where he has taught negotiation in the Senior Executive Leadership Program (SELP) and Military Leaders Strategic Studies Seminar (MLS). Every year Filip contributes to Academy Global's annual Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) for the Not-For-Profit sector. In the past, Filip has also made his courses available to lower tier institutions, e.g. University of Technology, Sydney (UTS), where he taught negotiation across faculties to undergrad, MBITM, MBA, EMBA and executive participants, and Macquarie Graduate School of Management (MGSM), where he taught negotiation to MoM, MBA and executive participants.
Filip has contributed articles to INSEAD Knowledge, some of which have been republished elsewhere, e.g. in CEO Magazine. You can find a snapshot of Filip's insights on negotiation in his 2013 book, Negotiation Evolved. He is presently writing a second book on crisis and hostage negotiation, with input from a dozen crisis negotiation experts across the globe.
