Telecommunications Engineer by the ETSIT of Madrid with postgraduate studies such as PDD by the IESE.

He commenced as Engineer at Sainco, after that, he developed his professional career as Commercial Director at Hewlett Packard, General Manager at Air Touch International in Spain, COO of Airtel Movil, CEO of Microsoft Ibérica and CEO of Vodafone Spain. He is currently Chairman of Vodafone Spain and he also Chairs the Company March JLT.

Francisco Román has been teaching in different IESE programs since 2013 and is part of the Professional Board of ESADE and member of the Board of the European University of Madrid (UEM); he is also member of the Círculo de Empresarios and some others associations of the telecommunications sector and the information society.

Active in the Third Sector, he Chairs the Vodafone Foundation in Spain, he is also part of the Board of Trustees of the Vodafone Group Foundation, he is Chairman of the SERES Foundation and member of some other Foundations.
