Biography

Gabriele Cappelli is Assistant Professor (RTD-B) of Economic History. He is currently teaching Economic History at the undergraduate level and within the PhD programme in Economics. He graduated in Economics at the University of Siena, and holds a PhD in History and Civilization from the European University Institute. His research explores the formation of institutions, human capital and social capital in the long run, and the impact of such factors on regional economic growth in Italy as well as other world regions. His work has been published in the Economic History Review, the Journal of Economic History, the European Review of Economic History, Cliometrica and the Journal of Interdisciplinary History.
