Gaby Senay

I am the Country Director for the National Democratic Institute in Algeria. I have previously worked as the Deputy Country Director and Acting Country Director for the National Democratic Institute in Tunisia.

I obtained my BA in Communication Studies from Université de Montréal, Québec.

A senior-level international expert in democracy, governance, political parties, citizen engagement and communications with a passion for human connection, building trust and delivering results. With 20 years of experience in political development, citizen engagement and communication crisis management in fast paced and challenging work environments, she has worked across a range of developed and emerging countries including as a political practitioner and activist in her home country of Canada.

As a member of various international and national teams, Gaby has extensive experience as a member and mentor in diverse multinational teams while acting as a representative to local partners, government officials, international donors and diplomatic communities. She has a considerable on-the-ground experience providing technical assistance to political institutions as well as working specifically with young people and women to develop leadership skills and become more politically engaged.
