Biography

Geoffrey is consistent, reliable, adaptable, and generally supportive with keen interest in understanding and addressing other people’s challenges. He likes to learn hence inquisitive. He is receptive, visionary and believes in excellence in whatever one does. With over 16 years industry, academia and consulting experience, Geoffrey is currently a full time member of faculty at Strathmore Business School where he facilitates sessions in accounting and finance to MBA students, new and experienced managers and other customized sessions to companies and executive groups. Geoffrey is also a part time lecturer at School of Accountancy where he facilitates in the Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Association of Certified Chartered Accountant (ACCA) and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) programs. He is a member of the Research and Development Committee of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK), a member of the Technical Committee of the Financial Reporting Excellence Awards (FiRe) of ICPAK and a facilitator with the professional standards committee of ICPAK.
Geoffrey is also a non-executive director in Mzima Springs Investment Company, which invests in properties and other private equities and potential investments. Geoffrey has previously served as the Director, School of Finance and Applied Economics of Strathmore University (Renamed Strathmore Institute of Mathematics). He has also served as the Chairman, Strategy and Education Committee of ACCA council in Kenya and Chairman of the Mzima Springs SACCO (the SACCO of Strathmore University and its affiliate institutions). Geoffrey has also worked as a Financial Accountant and Credit Controller. He has undertaken numerous trainings and consultancies ranging from Business and Financial Analysis, Financial Controls, Financial records and preparation of historical and forecast financial statements, Financial Reorganization and Strategy, Risk Management, Corporate Governance, Business and Personal Financial Management (including finance for non-finance). Most clients range from owners of businesses, employees, executive management, board members and directors, professionals both in private and public sector and across different sectors/industries.
To enhance his research skills, Geoffrey is currently pursuing Phd in Accounting and Finance at Strathmore University. He has a Masters of Commerce (MCOM) Finance, Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Finance) all from Strathmore University. He also has a Bsc. Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University in UK. He is a member of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), global and East Africa Society, a member of ICPAK and a fellow of ACCA of which he holds their professional qualifications.
Geoffrey is married and has three energetic boys. He enjoys classical music and jazz.
