IESE Business School
I am a senior data scientist heading the Big Data Analytics and Intelligence division at Fraunhofer IAIS. Our mission to help our customers to leverage their digitization potentials across various domains including but not limited to transport & logistics, manufacturing, automotive, retail, and insurance & finances. As part of this mission, my team and I engage in many aspects of this transformation from innovation and technology consulting to help shape and define a tailored AI roadmap, enabling customers through data science qualification of staff, and the implementation of suitable and trustworthy AI solutions. My passion is the research and development of Visual Analytics solutions - integrating interactive visualizations with machine learning approaches - to Big Data Analysis and AI challenges that combine human ingenuity and creativity with the speed and accuracy of the computer. Corresponding approaches such as visual data and model exploration that are mission critical in developing reliable and explainable AI. I am especially interested in visual analysis of spatial, temporal, and movement data. I have (co-)authored more than 55 peer-reviewed research papers, journal articles, and book contributions. Among those, I am proud to having received a best short paper award at Smart Graphics 2008 as well as an IEEE VAST challenge award for outstanding scalable analytics in 2014.
