Harvard Medical School
Dr. Mashour is an anesthesiologist and NIH-funded neuroscientist who is internationally recognized for his work on consciousness. He studies consciousness using computational models, experimental models, translational studies in healthy volunteers, and clinical research in surgical patients. He also has expertise in promoting translational research and serves as the Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology.

Research
Dr. Mashour leads a multidisciplinary, NIH-funded neuroscience laboratory that studies the mechanisms and monitoring of consciousness across the translational spectrum. He also serves as the founding Director of the Michigan Psychedelic Center as well as Co-Director of the Michigan Institute for Clinical & Health Research.
