Glenn Lorbecki joined the AES in 1988 and has served as a member of the Financial Planning Committee since 2015, reporting to the ExCom and Board of Governors. His expertise in fiscal management stems from his 20+ year business experience as president of a recording/video post-production company, Glenn Sound, Inc., and his service to NARAS as national Secretary/Treasurer for four years. As chair of their Finance Committee, he lead oversight of the GRAMMY® parent company from budgeting to audits, biz dev, compensation, legal issues, growth planning, real estate acquisition, charitable giving, and the sustained growth of their endowment fund.

Numbered among the top 50 influential forces in Seattle music by Seattle Sound Magazine, producer/engineer/composer and business owner Glenn Lorbecki established his career with such diverse artists as the Violent Femmes, Dizzy Gillespie, Dr. John, the White Stripes, Dave Matthews, Regina Spektor, Green Day, Weezer, and Coldplay. Collaborations with MTV, Clear Channel, CBS, PBS, ABC, etc. have yielded numerous features, live-in-the-studio recordings, film scores, and game soundtracks. He is part of the EMMY® and TEC award-winning GRAMMY telecast audio team on CBS, and his work is on permanent exhibit at the GRAMMY Museum in Los Angeles. Lorbecki is a volunteer leader with the Recording Academy (NARAS, GRAMMYs) since 1999, currently serving as national Trustee. He has served as PNW Chapter President, and was elected to two terms as national Secretary/Treasurer of the Board of Trustees. Committee service includes: TV Committee, Co-Chair of the Technology Committee, and Co-Chair (with Bob Ludwig) of the Producers and Engineers Wing for 5 years. Activities include public speaking and panel moderation at international conferences such as AES, NAMM, CES, the TEC Awards, and GRAMMY Week, where he has presented the Technical GRAMMY Award on numerous occasions.

Glenn has organized and presented the Pro Studio Expo for the AES 140, 141, and 142nd international conventions, and serves on the Recording Technology and Practices committee. Other notable volunteer affiliations include SPARS, The VERA Project (Seattle), and the University of Washington, where he has been teaching audio production continuously since 1991, winning an award for Excellence in Education. As an author, he is currently revising three of his audio production books for publisher Hal Leonard.
