Gordon Lambert is the Suncor Sustainability Executive-in-Residence at Ivey. He retired from Suncor Energy on January 1, 2015. In his most recent role at Suncor, Lambert was the Executive Advisor for Sustainability and Innovation. In this role, Lambert worked with the CEO, Board, Executive Team, industry peers and other stakeholders to improve environmental, social and economic performance through innovation and collaboration. Lambert is known for his leadership in promoting sustainability and ethics in the oil and gas sector. He has been instrumental in driving collaboration and public dialogue on energy development, particularly through the formation of Canada’s Oil Sands Innovation Alliance (COSIA). Currently, Lambert chairs the Board of Carbon Management Canada Research Institutes and serves on the Board of the Climate Change Forum and the Advisory Board to the Network for Business Sustainability. He is a former Canadian representative on the Joint Public Advisory Committee to the US, Canadian and Mexican Environment Ministers under NAFTA. He is a frequent speaker on energy, environment and innovation and recently spoke on Innovation and Collaboration at the World Economic Forum in Tianjin China.
