Gordon Perchthold

Dr Gordon Perchthold's 30+ year career as an Industry Technologist; Global Partner in Deloitte Consulting; Entrepreneur; and Academic Professor has created layers of depth and balance in industry practice, theoretical knowledge, and active learning teaching capabilities easily exceeding the Gladwell 10,000-hour rule (Outliers) with respect to world-class expertise for doing business in Asia. In other words, being ASIA CAPABLE.

Gordon's first 25 years of practical business strategy and multi-country transformation experience was gained as an industry manager, Global Partner and entrepreneur working within dozens of cross-cultural teams of 40+ MNCs. Since 2012, Gordon has undertaken academic research, becoming conferred with a PhD from the University of Sydney in 2017, then teaching Business Capstone courses in Design Thinking and the Management of Multinationals Across Asia as a professor at Singapore Management University. Since 1997, Gordon has worked/lived throughout the 12 countries of Asia. The forgoing represents a combination of experiences, skills, and knowledge that contributes to innovative solutions for his clients and unique, differentiated positioning in the market.

Over the years, Gordon's industry clients have included MNCs headquartered in Asia, Australia, Canada, U.S., U.K., continental Europe, as well as, SMEs in Australia and Singapore, focused on their strategic and operational engagements throughout Asia. His academic research has captured the life experiences of over 100 Chairs and CEOs of the world’s largest MNCs through interviews, coupled with absorbing the global academic knowledge base on International Business. Together, the experiences and absorbed knowledge have allowed me to fill the gaps in developing both a holistic and a detailed understanding of successful and unsuccessful MNC management practices within Asia.

While a citizen of Australia/Canada, a Hong Kong Permanent Resident, and currently residing in Singapore with his wife (a South African/British citizen) of 20+ years, over his career, Gordon has lived in nine countries, worked in 17 countries/30 cities, and travelled in 50+ countries.

Gordon mission is to ‘give back’ through research, teaching, and advisory services so that the next generation of students, business executives, SMEs, and MNCs can increase their probability of success when establishing, building, and managing businesses throughout the Asia-Pacific.
