Graziadio School of Business and Management
As Executive Director of the Fred Sands Institute of Real Estate, Dr. Greg Morrow applies his extensive professional and academic experience to the shaping of our programs and research initiatives. In alignment with both the Graziadio School and Fred Sands Institute mission to champion business practice that serves a greater good, Dr. Morrow also brings a demonstrated commitment to making a positive impact on communities and the environment through real estate planning and development.
Dr. Morrow earned his PhD in Urban Planning and Development from UCLA, and was previously a faculty member at MIT, where he had completed two master''s degrees. He has also served on the faculty at Occidental College and was a fellow in the UCLA Institute of the Environment and Sustainability. His research on metropolitan growth and change has explored a range of urban planning and real estate issues facing North American cities, including the impact of restrictive zoning on housing supply and affordability, innovative funding mechanisms to finance local area improvements, and the impacts of transit-oriented development.
As a faculty member at the University of Calgary, Dr. Morrow was the Richard Parker Professor of Metropolitan Growth and Change in the Haskayne School of Business. His research on metropolitan growth and change has explored a range of urban planning and real estate issues facing North American cities, including the impact of restrictive zoning on housing supply and affordability, innovative funding mechanisms to finance local area improvements, and the impacts of transit-oriented development.
Dr. Morrow served as City Planning Commissioner in Calgary, was a member of the Academic Advisory Council for Haskayne''s Westman Centre for Real Estate Studies, and shepherded the creation of a dual MBA/MPlan degree program at the University of Calgary. He has also worked in architectural practice in Boston and maintains a real estate consulting practice here in Los Angeles.
