Biography
-
Heike Ollertz, born in the Ruhr area in 1967, grew up in Hamburg - almost on the banks of the Elbe and always with the sound of the big pots in her ears. She has been a photographer from the very beginning. For the first mare illustrated book she circumnavigated Ireland's coasts. After training at the Berlin Lette Association, she studied at the University of the Arts in Berlin.
She photographed travel reports in more than 30 countries for international magazines and publishers. Since her work on the mare illustrated book Iceland, she has been intensively concerned with the visible traces of the Anthropocene in Iceland's landscapes. Heike Ollertz is a member of the Focus agency and teaches as a professor of photography at the UE University of Applied Sciences Europe.
