Dr Francis Ho is a Senior Consultant at the Department of Radiation Oncology, National University Cancer Institute, Singapore (NCIS). He completed his medical training with the Faculty of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2002.
Dr Ho has held various administrative appointments, including Chief Registrar of NUH Radiation Oncology from 2009 to 2010. As part of his specialist training, he spent 6 months at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane, Australia where he was further trained in head and neck cancer care and eye plaque brachytherapy under the Human Manpower Development Plan by Ministry of Health. Upon completing his specialist training in NUH, he was subsequently appointed as a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists, as well as a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore (FAMS) in 2012.
His practice interests include hepatobiliary cancer, ophthalmic cancer, head and neck cancer particularly nasopharyngeal cancer, and general oncology. He is currently the radiation oncology champion for the NUH Hepatobiliary Tumour Group and the Upper Gastrointestinal Tumour Group.
Dr Ho has published scientific papers in respected peer-reviewed medical journals and has contributed a chapter on management of nasopharyngeal cancer in an international nasopharyngeal cancer textbook. He is active in teaching radiotherapy diploma students, medical students and radiation oncology residents, and is an Assistant Professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS. He is also actively involved in research and is an executive member of the Royal Australia New Zealand College of Radiologist Research Committee and an alternate member of the local Domain Specific Review Board (DSRB).
