Hon Lau

Dr. Hon Chung Lau graduated from Caltech and Princeton with B.Sc. and PhD in Chemical Engineering, respectively. He then worked for Shell for 35 years in its global upstream business. He held positions in R&D, technology deployment, operations, technical training, recruiting, project management and technical leadership. Within Shell, he was subject matter expert in Enhanced Oil Recovery, Sand Control and Smart Wells. After Shell, he joined the National University of Singapore (NUS) as professor of practice and spearheaded the petroleum engineering program between 2016-2021. He taught and conducted research in unconventional and renewable energies. In 2021, he retired from NUS and founded Low Carbon Energies.
