Biography

CEIBS

Dr. Huang Sheng is Associate Professor of Finance at China Europe International Business School (CEIBS). Prior to joining CEIBS, he was Assistant Professor of Finance at Lee Kong Chian School of Business, Singapore Management University.

Dr. Huang received his Ph.D. in Economics from Washington University in St. Louis, M.Phil. in Economics from University of Cambridge, and B.A. in History and Economics from Peking University. His current research focuses primarily on Corporate Finance, Merger and Acquisition, Integration of Industry and Finance, Executive Compensation, Corporate Governance, Financial Intermediation, and Investment. His articles have been published in leading academic journals such as Management Science, Journal of Financial Intermediation, and Review of Financial Studies, among others. Dr. Huang is an ad hoc referee for top journals including Journal of Finance, Review of Financial Studies, Management Science, and Journal of Corporate Finance and for Research Grant Council of Hong Kong and The Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO). He is also a member of American Finance Association, Western Finance Association, European Finance Association, and Financial Intermediation Research Society.

Dr. Huang has won numerous awards for his outstanding performance in research and teaching, such as Best Paper Award at the Seventh Annual Conference on Asia-Pacific Financial Markets (CAFM) in 2012, Dean’s Teaching Honor List of SMU from 2010 to 2011, etc. His research was featured in major media outlets such as Wall Street Journal, Yahoo Finance, and Fox Business. In 2019, he won the CEIBS Power of One Service Excellence Award for Faculty Members.
