Having grown up in Europe with Luxemburgish-German as his native language combination, Ingo studied internationally and completed his PhD at the University of Melbourne, Australia.

Ingo is an Associate Professor at RMIT University, Graduate School of Business and Law, Australia and a Visiting Professor at Copenhagen Business School, Department of Marketing, Denmark. His cross-disciplinary research combines in particular design, strategy, and marketing theory to better understand, connect and serve human-centred ecosystems.

Demonstrating his innovative and holistic academic approach, Ingo has won national and international research and teaching awards. Honours include awards presented by the national Australian Government, the Australian & New Zealand Marketing Academy and the American Marketing Association / SERVSIG among others.

Ingo is experienced in teaching undergraduate, postgraduate and executive courses across Europe, Asia and Australia. He previously taught Strategic Marketing at CBS. Today his teaching interest centres on combining design thinking, strategy, and service management as an integrated approach. Ingo recently developed an industry-linked Design Thinking for Business course for RMIT’s executive MBA program.

Ingo frequently works with industry partners to facilitate meaningful human interactions towards measurable individual, organisational and community outcomes. He is particularly passionate about stimulating human ingenuity and collaborative energies, while considering the deeper meaning of and for human experiences, combining creative, critical, and spiritual thinking.

His publications have appeared in the Journal of Service Research, Journal of Retailing, Journal of Business Research, Marketing Theory, Journal of Marketing Management, Journal of Service Theory and Practice, Journal of Strategic Marketing, and International Marketing Review. Ingo also serves as a reviewer and editorial board member.

While Ingo has been a co-initiator and co-editor of special issues in research journals, he is also a co-editor of the practitioner-oriented book Strategic Design: 8 Essential Practices Every Strategic Designer Must Master (BIS Publishers) http://strategicdesignbook.com/
Ingo holds executive courses on strategic design for managers, while consulting with industry partners to build strategic design capacity.
