Iris Schneider, JD, CPA, is a clinical assistant professor of accounting and taxation, director of the MS in taxation program, and deputy director of the MS in accounting program at Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business. Prior to joining the Fordham faculty, she was an assistant professor of accounting and taxation at Lehman College and an adjunct assistant professor at the Gabelli School and at the Baruch College Zicklin School of Business.

Before entering academia, Professor Schneider had many years of experience working for Sony Corporation, Mitsui and Co. (USA), Inc., and Bunge Corporation as tax counsel and tax director, and in public accounting for Deloitte and Friedman LLP. She has extensive knowledge in domestic and international taxation, especially relating to the media and entertainment, commodities, and financial-services industries. In addition to tax research and planning, Professor Schneider represented large multinational corporations with respect to federal, state, and local large-case tax examinations. She is an attorney in New York State and New Jersey, as well as a Certified Public Accountant in New York State. She is a member of the American Bar Association and a past president of the Tax Executives Institute’s New York chapter.

Professor Schneider received her bachelor of science in accounting from Lehman College, CUNY, and her juris doctor degree from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, Yeshiva University.
