Biography

Jacek Dybinski is a Senior Research Fellow in the Max Planck Fellow Research Group on European Financial Markets Law. He specializes in the EU and comparative financial markets regulation, capital markets and financial instruments law, company law, corporate governance, and related aspects of consumer and new technologies law. He teaches European banking and financial markets law at the University of Luxembourg and is a guest lecturer on the EU capital market law at the LUISS Guido Carli University in Rome. He is the editor of the first Polish commentary on financial market law.
Dr Dybinski graduated from Harvard Law School (LLM) and Jagiellonian University in Krakow (MA), where he also obtained his PhD. He studied and researched at Yale Law School, Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg, Harvard Law School, and Tilburg University. Before joining the Max Planck Institute Luxembourg, he was an Assistant Professor at the Chair of Business Law at the Jagiellonian University.
Dr Dybinski is an academic member of the European Corporate Governance Institute, a fellow of the European Law Institute, and a member of a research group on the Codification of the European Capital Markets Law. He has been involved in several regulatory projects, e.g. on a reform of the Polish Code of Commercial Companies, application of innovative technologies to the financial market, and a regulation of tokens in Europe.
