Jaclyn Foroughi, CFA, blends deep experience in traditional investing, philanthropy, and impact investing with experiential learning through the Action Learning Program. Her teaching involves projects in which students work with nonprofit organizations and investment funds to optimize for positive social and environmental impact alongside business performance. Extending her commitment to experiential learning, Foroughi also designs and delivers hands-on financial literacy courses to underserved communities throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.

Foroughi is the cofounder and managing partner of Brazen Impact, LLC, an impact investment fund focused on increasing the amount of capital being invested in places, companies, products, and services that have significant social and environmental benefits. She is also the founder and CEO of Brazen FINLIT, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering youth and underserved communities through financial literacy and professional mentorship opportunities. Foroughi has been an active angel investor focused on technology startups for over a decade with multiple exits over $100 million.

At Stanford Graduate School of Business, Foroughi codeveloped and teaches Financial Analysis for Social Impact in which students tackle issues related to investment evaluation and performance measurement, as well as analyze the financials of organizations within the fast-growing and rapidly evolving impact investing market. Since joining Stanford GSB in 2013, Foroughi has developed over three dozen cases in the areas of accounting, finance, social innovation, marketing, and strategy. This work has been published and used for pedagogical purposes by universities, professors, and business thought leaders.

Foroughi has over twenty years of finance and accounting experience, holding buy- and sell-side positions in investment management and investment banking. She was a sales-trader at Salomon Smith Barney (now Citigroup Global Markets) followed by a portfolio manager in International Equity iShares at Barclays Global Investors (now Blackrock) where she managed over $7 billion in exchange-traded funds and launched the first Chinese-focused ETF. Later, she was vice president and senior quantitative analyst for a $1.5 billion long-short equity hedge fund followed by senior research analyst at the Charles Schwab Center for Financial Research. Foroughi is a Chartered Financial Analyst charter holder and member of the CFA Society of San Francisco.

In addition to finance, Foroughi has over a decade of experience contributing to, advising, and advocating for nonprofits. She is a strong advocate in the promotion of balanced students and is focused on character building and lifelong learning. In an effort to balance her own life. Foroughi is a competitive ultramarathon distance runner with several notable 100K and 100-mile distances completed. She is also a strong supporter of ultramarathon research through the Western States Research Foundation (in affiliation with Stanford Athletics). She is a track and cross-country coach at Menlo School and a licensed private pilot.
