The Robert H. Smith School of Business
Dr. Bedingfield's areas of expertise include accounting regulations, Cost Accounting Standards, and the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). He has served as a consultant to various federal agencies and private groups on these topics. Bedingfield has published extensively in both academic and professional journals, including the Journal of Accountancy, Accounting Review, Financial Executive, and the Journal of Accounting and Public Policy. He is the author of Accounting and Federal Regulation and the co-author with Howard W. Wright (first edition) and Dr. Louis I. Rosen (current edition) of Government Contract Accounting. He has served as an expert witness and as a research consultant to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). He was a member of the AICPA Special Committee that revised the Industry Audit Guide: Audits of Government Contractors. Dr. Bedingfield has served on the Cost Accounting Standards Board, the federal body that promulgates accounting standards for major federal procurements.
