James Dallman

James Dallman is principal and co-founder of LA DALLMAN, and Design Critic at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design (GSD). James Dallman’s commitment to artistic and technical excellence in architectural practice has resulted in competition winning entries and work at a wide range of scales. Prior to forming LA DALLMAN, he worked in distinguished firms in Vienna, London, New York, Chicago, Montreal, and Boston where he led design efforts ranging from large-scale, complex building programs to furniture design. James Dallman’s work has been recognized by the American Society of Civil Engineers Wisconsin and the Structural Engineers Association of Illinois. Recognized for his artistry in architectural representation and detail, his analytical drawings have been exhibited at the Harvard GSD and are published in the journal 9H. In addition to his teaching at Harvard GSD, he has taught as Visiting Faculty at the UWM School of Architecture & Urban Planning, Arizona State University School of Architecture + Landscape Architecture, and Syracuse University School of Architecture. He received his professional degree in architecture from Harvard University Graduate School of Design, and graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee with a B.S. in Architecture, including study at the Ecole Speciale D’Architecture in Paris.
