Mr. McGonigle has served on the Board since 2002. Mr. McGonigle currently serves as an adjunct professor at Georgetown University and Escuela Superior de Administración y Dirección de Empresas (ESADE) in Barcelona, Spain. He is the former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Corporate Executive Board Company (“CEB”). During his tenure at CEB he held a variety of positions including: special advisor to the Board of Directors from July 2007 until April 2009; Director and Chairman of the Board from July 2005 until July 2007; Chief Executive Officer from July 1998 until July 2005; and General Manager from October 1997 until July 1998. From 1995 until October 1997 Mr. McGonigle was the General Manager of the corporate division of The Advisory Board Company. Additionally, Mr. McGonigle was a consultant in the Financial Institutions Group at McKinsey & Company, an independent consulting firm, from 1990 to 1995. Mr. McGonigle received a B.A. from the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University and a J.D. from Harvard Law School. He is the Chairman of the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee. On September 19, 2005, he was named the Lead Independent Director.
Mr. McGonigle brings to the Board of Directors leadership experience, including service as the Chief Executive Officer of a public company for over seven years. This role required industry knowledge combined with operational and management expertise. In addition, Mr. McGonigle brings to the Board of Directors market and corporate governance insights from his experience as an outside public company board member.
