Biography
Dr. James F. Moore is a management scientist, He is a leading authority on science, technology and economic development. He consults, teaches and invests.
James was a Senior Fellow at Harvard Law School in the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society. He has been affiliated with Harvard’s Business, Law and Education Schools. He received a doctorate in cognitive developmental psychology from Harvard, He was a post/doctoral research fellow in organizations at Stanford.
His advisory practice is limited to ai and data science, telecom, computing and semiconductors. He has served AT&T, AT&T Bell Labs, HP, Intel, Qualcomm, Royal Dutch Shell and ARM.
He has served investors AT&T Ventures, Intel Capital, GE Capital, and SoftBank.
Pro bono service has included governments, NGOs, the United Nations, the G8 Group of Nations, and academic/activist programs including the Harvard AIDS Initiative, the Harvard Population Center and the School of Public Health Program on Society & Health, and the MIT Sloan School Initiative on the Digital Economy.
James has written widely including for the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal. His Harvard Business Review article, “Predators & Prey: A New Ecology of Competition” won the McKinsey Award.
His book, The Death of Competition: Leadership and Strategy in the Age of Business Ecosystems (Harper Business, New York), was a bestseller and is available in multiple languages including English, German and Chinese.
