Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO

Dr. Jan H.G. Klabbers has held professor and research positions in the U.S. (MIT, Case Western Reserve University), in the Netherlands (Radboud University, Leiden University, Utrecht University, University of Amsterdam, and Erasmus University), and in Norway (University of Bergen). He is honorary member, former President and Secretary General of the International Simulation and Gaming Association (ISAGA), honorary member of SAGSAGA (Swiss, Austrian, and German Simulation & Gaming Association), member of the New York Academy of Sciences, the American Educational Research Association, the Science Committee of the Dutch Society for Simulation in Healthcare, and SAGANET.

He is associate editor of the journal Simulation & Gaming, and the International Journal of Game-Based Learning. His publications cover social systems theory, design science and analytical science methodology, and the design and application of gaming and simulation in a wide variety of areas of application. His book, The magic circle: principles of gaming & simulation provides the general framework for these topics. Dr. Klabbers is involved in social systems development: organization & management development, and action learning.
