Bio

Janet is an executive coach, leadership and organizational development consultant, and an engaging speaker and workshop leader. Her experience helping people become better leaders and navigate through change spans over twenty five years. During this time, Janet has designed and led a myriad of executive leadership programs, provided one-on-one or group executive coaching, created strategies and processes to improve organizational effectiveness, and led human resources and leadership development and talent management functions in Fortune 200 companies.

With this extensive experience working with executives and as a senior human resources leader in three Fortune 200 companies in different industries, Janet has first-hand knowledge of the realities, situations, and complexities executives face leading organizations. Simply put, she “gets it”, and understands the context her clients operate in. She has worked with and coached leaders in manufacturing, banking, military, insurance, government, publishing, media, government contracting, and information technology industries and has lived and worked in Greece and Germany.

In adivition, Janet is an adjunct faculty member and executive coach at American University’s School of Public Affairs. She teaches leadership courses and provides coaching in the Key Executive Leadership Program for government executives working in federal agencies. She is on the adjunct faculty at the University of Maryland’s Smith School of Business’ Advanced Executive Coaching program, designed for certified, experienced executive coaches nationwide.

Janet''s strength is giving leaders honest, relevant and direct feedback, asking them the hard questions, and inspiring them to find their own answers. She provokes people to do the deep work needed to truly be more effective leaders in their organizations, and ultimately, their lives. She is currently the president of The Mana Group (TMG), an executive coaching and leadership development company, and the Lead Executive Coach at Northrop Grumman Corporation.

Janet holds dual Master’s degrees in Business and Public Administration and has completed coursework towards a PhD in Adult Learning & Human Development. She has earned a host of professional certifications and participated in various certificate and training programs, including ones in coaching, organizational development, training design, facilitation, several 360 feedback instruments, emotional intelligence, FIRO-B and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. She is certified by the International Coaching Federation and has years of on-going coach training, including an advanced executive coaching certificate for experienced, certified executive coaches at UMD’s Smith School of Business. She has been using and providing feedback to leaders on assessment tools and 360 feedback instruments for over 20 years and has deep practical and academic knowledge of leadership, group dynamics, and human psychology and development.
