Biography

He received his M.Sc. degree in 1988 and his Ph.D. degree in 1990 from the Faculty of Electronics at Warsaw University of Technology. He has worked at the Institute of Computer Science in the Department of Information Systems since 1990.

As part of the cooperation between the Warsaw University of Technology and the Center for Continuing Training of GIE INT-CITCOM France Telecom, he co-created the postgraduate course "Telecommunications, Informatics and Management" and lectured in the area of Data Warehousing and Analytics (in 1990-1993).

In 1993, he completed an postgradute visit to the University of Western Ontario (London, Canada).

He was a scholarship holder of the START program of the Foundation for Polish Science in 1994.

At the same time, in parallel with his teaching and research work at the Warsaw University of Technology, from 1994 he realized and managed the implementation of strategies and business and technological transformations. He worked mainly in the structures of international consulting companies (PwC, KPMG, Accenture) performing management and professional (consulting, expert) roles. He carried out projects in Poland and abroad, mainly in the telecommunications, financial and energy sectors, practically in all functional areas of companies.

In 2012-19 he was a visiting lecturer, mentor and trainer at Accenture Global Training Center, St. Charles, IL, USA. Since 2018, he has been a lecturer at Kozminski University within the postgraduate MBA and EMBA programs (specialization Digital Transformation).

The scope of his research and academic interests remains at the intersection of technology and management. Among the main topics are invariably intelligent information systems, data engineering technologies, advanced data analytics, artificial intelligence and knowledge representation methods. In the area of algorithmic methods and tools: AI / ML tools and techniques, decision models, knowledge discovery. In the area of management: strategic use of data, information and advanced algorithms to create value in business, digital transformation and diffusion of technological innovations, business models based on lean, agile and service design paradigms. Finally, in the area of technology management: evolutionary architectures (including cloud-native), continuous delivery and DevOps AI.

The scope of current and former lectures and other teaching includes such topics as: at the Institute of Computer Science, Warsaw University of Technology - artificial intelligence, databases, information systems analysis and design, CX/UX analysis and design, etc.; at the Warsaw University of Technology Business School - Digital Transformation MBA Program; and at Kozminski University (MBA and Executive MBA Programs, Postgraduate Studies in Digital Transformation).
