Presentation
I am an international management scholar with a broad interest in the interaction between business and society. Most of my published work examines how societal institutions shape knowledge and decision-making processes in multinational corporations, and how institutions vary across societies. My work on these topics has been published in journals such as Organization Studies, the Global Strategy Journal, the British Journal of Management, and Management Learning.
My current work deals with a broader set of topics, including the role of private corporations in humanitarian crises, and the sources and consequences of nepotism in organizations. I employ qualitative, experimental and set-theoretic methods to study these phenomena.
Most of my teaching takes place in the MSc in International Business and Politics (IBP) program at CBS, a graduate program dedicated to the intersection of business, politics and law. I teach and coordinate a course in International Business Strategy, as well as an innovative, cross-disciplinary case-based course. I served on the board of the IBP program from 2011 to 2015.
I currently serve as Senior Editor with the journal Organization Studies, and am on the review boards of the Journal of Management and the Journal of International Business Studies; two other top-tier management journals.
