Dr Jasper Tromp works at the Saw Swee Hock School for Public Health, at the National University of Singapore as an Assistant Professor. His research is focussed on non-communicable diseases, with a specific interest in cardiovascular disease in lower- and middle-income regions in southeast Asia. He has a specific interest in digital and mHealth interventions to strengthen local health systems.

Dr Tromp attended the University of Groningen, where he obtained a Bachelor and Master of Medicine (Medical Doctor) and a Bachelor’s in international Relations and International Organizations.

Dr Tromp’s research has won several awards, including the Paul Dudley White International Scholar award (2018), and he was recognized by the World Heart Federation as an Emerging Leader in Cardiovascular Disease (2020). Aside from his research activities, Dr Tromp mentors several students and interns and teaches medical students in social medicine and public health at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore.
