Biography

Javier Tafur holds the Managing Direction as Madrid Campus Dean at ESCP Europe Business School, where is also Professor at the Department of Strategy, Organizational Behavior and People. 

 

His relation with ESCP Europe started in 2009 as Affiliate Professor, when he was leading the MS Intl. Project Mgmt, as Scientific Director, as well as teaching at MSc, EMBA & GMP.

 

In 2005, Javier joined the Academia at the department of Industrial Engineering & Business Administration (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid), where he was lecturing Management and researching about Innovation & Strategy, and also assuming the General Secretariat of CEPADE Graduate School of Management. Javier became Professor in 2007 at the ETS Ingenieros Aeronáuticos where is on leave of absence since September 2014. Politecnica awarded twice Javier Tafur as Best Management Professor in 2011/12 & 2012/13 at ETS Ingenieros Industriales.

 

His principal research areas are Strategy, Technology Innovation, Change Mgmt and Strategic Asset Mgmt. He holds a PhD in Innovation Management and Economics from Politécnica de Madrid, where he was also studying BSc & MSc Industrial Engineering. In addition, he holds a MBA from IE Business School.

 

Professor Tafur has been, as a Practitioner, Executive Board Member of the International Board of Directors of Detecon International GmbH in Bonn (Germany) and CEO of Detecon Consulting Spain SA (Deutsche Telekom AG). Previously, his experience in Engineering and Consulting had been for more than 10 years in Public Sector, International organizations (i.e. NATO) and Multinational Companies (i.e. Dragados, Daimler-Benz, Deutsche Telekom) before becoming Academic in 2005.
