Biography

Jayne is our CEO and resident market development strategist.

A keen observer of human behaviour and fascinated by stories of people overcoming odds and defying challenges, Jayne is naturally curious, a lifelong learner and a proud member of the “perennial generation”.

Jayne is always on the lookout for new (and old) ideas. She spends her spare time scouring bookshops, and the internet!

Jayne is also a keen traveller and, while waiting for time travel to become an affordable reality, currently splits her time between Brisbane, Tasmania, Singapore, Shanghai and London.

Passionate about connecting people to where their food comes from and who produces Honey and Fox helps fishers, farmers and small food businesses find and grow the most profitable markets for their products. Experienced in launching, growing and scaling food businesses in Australia and internationally with particular skills in identifying and commercialising new opportunities, developing market entry strategies, building innovation ecosystems, communicating and presenting complex ideas so that they can be understood, multicultural and multilingual negotiations and more recently, like many people, quickly learning to lead and work remotely across multiple time zones and with varying degrees of connectivity.

Responsible for developing, facilitating and communicating the outcomes of a national seafood research program that focuses on product and market development opportunities for the company's shareholders.

President of an international association with members from over 100 countries. IAFI is responsible for conducting the World Seafood Congress every two years and in my role as President I organised and hosted three of these: Sydney in 2005, Dublin in 2007 and Morocco 2009.
