Eli Broad College of Business

Jeffrey (Jeff) Morrison was named Executive Director, Strategic Planning and Development in July 2016. Jeff has over 20 years of experience working throughout the global automotive industry, and started his career at GM in 2006. He’s responsible for leading efforts to transform GM’s purchasing policies and improve supplier relationships.

During his time at GM, Jeff has led global procurement and logistics organizations in the US and Germany. Prior to his current role, he was responsible for Global Procurement of Chassis Structures and Fuel Systems. In January 2011, he was Director of North American Material Logistics. In 2008, Jeff relocated to Germany and led GM’s Powertrain Procurement organization. In 2010, he led GM’s European Logistics organization. He began his career with GM in 2006 as a Procurement Manager for Transmission components based in Michigan.

Prior to joining GM, Jeff spent over 10 years working across the automotive industry in various engineering, commercial and consulting roles. He started his career in 1996 at Chrysler Corporation. He also spent time at Federal-Mogul, a leading Tier 1 powertrain supplier, and Ricardo Strategic Consulting. He has led strategic projects for global OEM’s, Tier 1’s and financial investors on a wide-range of technical and business issues.

Jeff holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Michigan - Ross School of Business and a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan-Dearborn
