I returned to Saint Anselm College in the fall of 2011 as a faculty member of the Department of Economics and Business after graduating from the college in 2001. I spent the ten year interim working in New York City both on Wall Street and at Fordham University. I am thrilled to be back at Saint Anselm College teaching courses in both economics and finance.

Teaching

Economics is a subject that is constantly evolving as the world changes, which is why I find it so interesting to study. Textbook material is important, but can only take the student so far. My goal is to get students to see beyond the classroom, so that they can see the application of the material in the real world. I find that in understanding this connection, students become much more interested in learning about the exciting world of economics and finance.

Research

My research interests span a wide area of finance including option volatility trading, market microstructure, and financial crises. After teaching a course this past year on the history of financial crises, my interest in this topic has been piqued and I am interested in further pursuing research in the area of macroprudential regulation and the popping of financial bubbles.
