Dr. Jeroen M. van der Velden is associate professor of Strategy Alignment and Co-Director of the Center for Strategy. He joined Nyenrode Business Universiteit in 2003. His teaching covers a wide area of topics from strategic management to organizational development, business innovation and change management. As a researcher he focuses on strategy alignment and the capability of organizations to successfully operate in dynamic environments.
As an advisor he has been active in various sectors of industry; financial, utilities, process industry, telecom and government. He participated in various organizational transformation and strategy implementation programs in organizations such as ING, Delta Lloyd, Heineken International, Shell International and the Tax Department where he developed and introduced new working practices.
He received his PhD degree at Delft University of Technology based on research on distributed team working in 1995. At Delft University he initiated the Delft WIT media lab (Work and Interaction Technology) for research on usage of collaboration technology and usability testing.
Secondary positions
Jeroen frequently acts as guest speaker or facilitator for work conferences for topics on strategy implementation and/or new ways of working. He teaches at SIOO and is also founder and owner of VanderVelden Organisatieadvies and of Distant Teamwork. Furthermore, he is involved in the Cyber Security Academy of the Hague Security Delta.
