Jesse Kugler

With a decade of experience, Jesse has become a trusted advisor and advocate to unions, employees and to trustees of pension and health and welfare plans. With a collaborative approach, he assists his clients in resolving complex challenges by developing effective strategies to advance their legal interests. Intense preparation and a natural ability to respond to issues as they arise enables Jesse to achieve positive outcomes for his clients.

Jesse’s practice focuses on the areas of labour law, human rights law, pension and health and welfare law and insolvency law. In addition to representing his clients before a variety of labour and administrative tribunals, Jesse has appeared as counsel numerous times before Ontario courts and the Federal Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada.

He joined CaleyWray in 2007 and has been a partner since 2011.

During law school, Jesse participated in the Correctional Law Project, a specialized legal aid clinic that provides counsel and representation to inmates in federal penitentiaries. He also spent a summer volunteering for a non-governmental organization in Cambodia which, among its many initiatives, promoted democracy and the rule of law. Having been exposed to the labour movement since childhood, he is well aware of the opportunity that he has to affect real and progressive change through legal forums.
