Biography
I am currently Assistant Professor of Philosophy in the Department of Psychology & Philosophy at Sam Houston State University (Huntsville, TX). I teach Aesthetics, Existentialism & Self-Awareness, Philosophy of Film & Literature, Feminist Philosophies, and Introduction to Philosophy.
My Research is situated at the intersection of history of philosophy and temporal theory, with a specialization in 19th-20th century continental or post-Kantian European philosophy. My work concerns the way we embody and understand (the limits of) time. Having begun to explore the more concrete, phenomenological dimensions of my research through teaching in feminist theory and critical theory more broadly, I am interested in developing trajectories well beyond the disciplinary quarantine that too often characterizes the practice of philosophy. I am currently engaged with two projects: 1) the monograph, Nietzsche's Heidegger; and 2) investigating the phenomenon of temporal transport in connection with contemporary feminist theory.
