Biography

Kellogg School of Management

Jim Woodrum is a Clinical Professor at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, with a focus on designing and teaching in courses for senior executives and Board members. Jim also serves as the Academic Director for Kellogg's Corporate Governance Program.

Before joining Kellogg, Jim was with the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he taught leadership and organization behavior classes in the Evening and Executive MBA program, and also taught executive education courses on strategy, leadership and talent management. While at Wisconsin, he also held the position of Associate Dean--Executive and Evening MBA

In addition to his role at Northwestern, Jim is a member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Compensation Committee at Packaging Corporation of America (PCA). With about 14,000 employees and 2020 revenues of $6.7 Billion, PCA is the third largest producer of containerboard and corrugated packaging products and the third largest producer of uncoated freesheet paper in the United States.

Prior to joining Wisconsin in 2007, Jim spent more than 20 years with Hewitt Associates, an international human resources consulting and outsourcing firm, where he worked with senior management teams and Boards on executive compensation and other corporate governance matters. He earned a B.S. in finance from Millikin University as well as an MBA in finance and industrial relations from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He has been at Kellogg since 2013.
